All the great style
trends from the fall/winter fashion shows 2012 can make us forget that its spring/summer 2012 that we should be looking at now and how those trends have translated into the salon. Looking back through those collections i’ve picked my favourite two looks from The Paris, New York, Milan and London shows, and as always my favourite shows where New York followed by Paris, I think that because I love the beauty aesthetic of the NYC looks.
1- OSCAR DE LA RENTA . I loved the hair for his NY show, centre parts and a touch of 70’s/80’s glamour with the hair wild and crimped looking through the midshafts and ends but flat on the top.
2-THEYSKENS THEORY. Again the hair at this show spoke to me – mainly long and still with a centre part but a glossy polished finish with soft waves ,all slightly tousled and natural looking colours .
1- BURBERRY PRORSUM. Again lots of centre parts and that wonderful polished finish that doesn’t look overly done beautiful wearable hair.
2-MARK EAST- Brilliant look here marcel
waves on a bob or long hair that has been tucked up to look like a bob really fresh and elegant and so on trend with that twenties feel.
1- ARKIS and LANVIN. both these houses gave us extreme parts on either the left or right, which gave us a refreshingly new look for long hair.
2- VALENTINO. they gave us the braid this season very fresh and youthful and fun and another one that translates easily into the salon.
i know i said my 2 favourites from the shows but
3- JEAN PAUL GAULTIER. The victory roll inspired by WW11 women – gosh such a fun different and very feminine look, i just LOVED it.
1- SALVATORE FERRAGAMO. My kind of hair long glamourous waves very polished and sexy.really commercial and a look i know many of my clients will adore.
2- VERSACE. YES YES YES ,beautiful glossy bouncy hair volume and soft waves just perfect.
All the looks that appealed to me where natural and soft as where the colours in the hair. I do love the fact that we are seeing some strange and magical hair colour on the runways, as this opens up the conversation about what is beauty what is pretty what is haircolour- but as always my aesthetic has always been about naturally glossy colour and bouncy healthy hair.
